Gerry Cott has been involved with animals all his life. Born into a 200 year old Irish farming family it was hard for Gerry to be anywhere where animals weren’t.

But instead of following the family tradition Gerry went off to college and while there formed The Boomtown Rats with Bob Geldof. After they disbanded Gerry had the time to start a business doing what he loved best…working with dogs and other animals.

Since 1983 Gerry’s company A-Z Animals has trained some of the most famous animals on our screens…the Andrex Puppies, the Dulux Dog, Greyfriars Bobby, EGG guinea pigs, Sheep with Brigitte Nielsen for Carlsberg, Horses with Davina McCall, Pigs with Richard Griffiths, Maggie Smith and Michael Palin, Chickens with Dudley Moore and a Parrot with John Cleese, to mention but a few!

Gerry has been credited on many major films, TV and adverts including Babe, Black Beauty, Alfie, Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy, 28 Days Later and more recently The Queen. TV commercials include, Lloyds TSB, Tesco, Coke, Sony, Dulux, Andrex and of course Pedigree Chum!

"DOG IN THE HUMAN PACK" – This is a “one hit” training session!

• Session Objective:
• To give you the show bizz professional training secrets that can be used in any situation with instant success
• To make training fun for you and your dog
• To provide you with One-To One, state of the art tuition which I use with dogs and actors in the international Film and Advertising Industries
• To provide you with a kind, respectful and effective fool-proof training method
• To provide you with a great "way of being with your dog” for life
• To provide a clear understanding of you and your family's world, from your dog's point of view, and how that directly impacts on your dog's behavior at home and away from home.

• Session Duration: 90 minutes

• Venue: Kitchen is good - hard, clean floor surface offering little or no distraction to your puppy / dog - no food or water bowls should be present during the session, unless consciously putting down a water bowl during the session.

• Pupil: You and all your Family – the “Human Pack” who lives with your puppy or dog. Family dynamics are crucial influencing factors in the proper integration and ultimate behavior of your puppy or dog. What you learn must be modeled and duplicated by the rest of the family. Ideally all members of the family should be present at the session so that everyone in the Family Pack is singing from the same hymn sheet!

• Preparation: If a morning session, your puppy or dog should miss its morning feed and therefore be very interested in the "treats" on offer during the session. If an afternoon session, puppy should miss the feed immediately preceding the session, so he is definitely interested and focused on the "treats".

• What you need for the session: A notebook and pen to make short notes, an open mind, and a readiness to learn distinctions that will last a lifetime!

• Follow up: The “Dog In The Human Pack” session is designed as a “one hit” session. You can call or email Gerry subsequently, gratis, if you are unclear about particular aspects of the theory and practice covered in the session.

• Further Sessions: If you enjoy the session and wish to delve further into the training theory and practice, particularly with regard to working in films and television, followup sessions can be arranged.

Important: This session is an exercise in TUNING - Tuning your dog into you and your family, and tuning you and your family into your dog. Therefore, please understand it is up to you to engage in and take ownership of the process and practice the process on an ongoing basis.

The Piano Tuner Analogy: When you hire a piano tuner - the piano tuner tunes the piano and it is then, with consistent practice, up to the client to play the piano. Similarly, what follows the "Dog In The Human Pack" session, is up to you!
